In the water standard hook lengths are only slightly heavier than neutral density, meaning they're not buoyant but will sink when encouraged, to remove any tendency for surface tension to hold it.

Tungskin however, is twice as heavy as most other tungsten hook length materials available and therefore sinks far more convincingly, hugging the contours of the lake bed closely.
