FOX EVOLUTION COMPACT SHELTER REVIEW

Fox Evolution Second Coming!

So this is in fact the second coming of the Fox evolution compact shelter and being a big fan of the previous model I was keen to get my hands on the new reincarnation of this shelter.

Solid updates for 2019

I was pleased to see that they had done away with the previous knuckle joints that folded the Poles down as they were cumbersome and awkward and they replace these with a much more reliable plastic covered spigot type it makes putting the new version up much easier. The material on the new 2019 Fox Evolution seems to be an upgrade on the previous models and is highly breathable and suitably tough. I also must commend fox for the fact that the bivvy comes supplied with a zip-in mosquito front. This being predominantly a short session or summer shelter, I think that’s an excellent addition that you don’t have to pay extra for.

Lightweight Versatility

I’m sure just one of the key reasons the Fox evolution bivvy has and will be very popular in the future is its versatility, it is a very light shelter  and can be put up and taken down with minimal effort in a very quick time it’s ideal if you’re a mobile angler that tends to move swims at the drop of a hat.

Other Stand Out Features

One other feature that needs to be pointed out which may not be obvious to someone who’s never used or seen an evolution before is the fact that it can be lowered and raised by walking out one side of the bivvy to decrease the height. This is advantageous if you’re fishing on a big Pit in strong winds as this effectively lets it become less of an obstacle for the wind to passover, in fact on numerous occasions I fished in some severe gales with nothing more than 4 pegs a single storm pole and it’s held solid.

Conclusion

To conclude, I’m happy to see the Fox Evolution Compact Shelter back in circulation think it’s one of the best bivvies designs that’s been released although it is maybe not suited to the long-stay angler or the angler that requires a lot of space it is a excellent very light and very stable bit of kit for the mobile angler or maybe the angler that enjoys doing just quick overnighters between work and doesn’t require a full scale bivvy set up. The bivvy comes supplied with everything you need including two storm poles, groundsheet, Carry bag and pegs.
